UP-Henderson Building Renovation
The Henderson Building renovation will modernize building access, restrooms, and instructional spaces to meet current codes and program needs. The project includes removal of the existing elevator and restrooms and installation of a new, fully code-compliant elevator and restroom facilities.
On the Henderson ground floor, renovations will support the Health and Human Development Department and include a new ADA-compliant entrance on the south wing. The first floor will be reconfigured by removing office space to create two new general-purpose classrooms. On the Henderson second floor, office areas will be removed to accommodate the new elevator and restrooms. The Henderson penthouse will be renovated to support the new elevator shaft and provide safe access pathways.
In addition, the Chandlee Laboratory area will be renovated by converting existing office and conference spaces into a student teaching kitchen with supporting offices, storage, and a dishwashing area. A new exhaust system will be routed to the roof, and a dedicated electrical room will be added to support the teaching kitchen.
